Nevedi (The Dutch Feed Industry Association) protects the interests of the Dutch feed industry. 113 Feed companies and suppliers are associated with Nevedi. The represent 96% of the total feed production for livestock in the Netherlands.
Nevedi cam into being in 2000 after the merger of umbrella organisations of the private and co-operative feed manufacturers Nevedi protects the interests of manufactures of compound feed and premixes, of producers of milk replacers and of suppliers of humid feedstuffs. The activities that Nevedi carries out on behalf of collective interests of its members, can be grouped under four priority areas.
Good employer ship
As employer organisation Nevedi a.o. leads the collective bargaining on behalf of the industry. This bargaining agreement, “called Cao Graanbe- en verwerkende bedrijven”, affect approximately five thousand employees.
Healthy and safe food
It is Nevedi’s mission to develop professional rules and good manufacturing practices including the sourcing of feed materials that ensure the quality and the safety of compound feed. Therefore, Nevedi is one of the founding organisations of GMP+ International, the managing body for the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance scheme. GMP+ is a worldwide known scheme for assuring feed safety in all the links in the feed chain.
Sustainability of raw materials and Green Innovations
Nevedi wants to encourage the sustainable development of livestock production responding to the market requirements, so as to maximise market opportunities for Dutch compound feed companies. Nevedi also strives to develop projects aiming to enhance the Dutch feed & livestock sectors competitiveness and capacity to innovate in and/or transfer science and technology based solutions to improve the sustainability of resource efficient livestock production systems.
Fefac
Nevedi is a member of Fefac, the European organisation of the feed industry. FEFAC is the independent spokesman of the European Compound Feed Industry at the level of the European institutions. Fefac represents, defends and promotes the interests of the European compound feed industry to the European Institutions.
